Show and Tell Tuesday: Resolutions For 2016!

Hey, y'all! For this Show and Tell Tuesday, the first of the new year, we are going to be reintroducing ourselves and telling about our New Year's resolutions!

So, if you don't know by now, I'm Rachel, The Fashionista Housewife!

I love Jesus, my family, shopping for a bargain (usually at Ross and Marshalls!), home decor, makeup, hair.... just about anything girly!

I am a nursing major (and I used to work as a CNA), but I really have a passion for cooking and beauty! I cook a homemade meal every night for my family! I share a ton of the recipes with you on the blog (if they're worthy enough to make it) and we mostly put those on repeat! I am a self-taught makeup artist, and learned everything through YouTube about 3 years ago. I even have a series this year called Makeup Mondays!

If you're in need of some girl time, you've come to the right place :)

As far as my family goes, this is my man, Derek! He's incredibly hard-working, loves to go on adventures with his girl (me ;), and we go together like 2 peas in a pod! He completely holds my heart! And as you can see from the pic, he's a total goofball! I recommend doing life with someone fun. It makes things 1,000 times better!

This is our puppy, Cole. Cole is a Goldendoodle, but he's only 10 weeks and 5 pounds right now (and yes we totally hold him like a baby all the time)! But don't let that fool you. He's a little mischief maker! But, we are absolutely in love with his spunky personality and cuddly nature!

And one extra thing you should know...

I LOVE COSTCO.

Well, now that you know a little bit about me,

it's time for resolutions!

1. Feel good about my body on my wedding day!

If you don't know, we will be getting married soon, and I just want to be able to look back at our pictures from the day and feel like I was a beautiful bride!

I honestly feel that every bride should feel like a gorgeous princess on their wedding day, and I am going for nothing short of that ;)

Have any tips that you've learned from your wedding day? Share them below!

From doing all this planning, I think I may be starting to discover another passion of mine...

Weddings!

I just love the planning that is going into this. But would I love planning someone else's? I may need to look into this :)

(Anyone know this movie?? ;)

2. Don't buy anything you don't need or absolutely love!

Wow guys, gotta be honest about this one. It's gonna be so hard!

But, I have already started implementing this when I go bargain shopping, and it's been helping save us a lot of money, haha!

I used to have a bad habit of buying things just because they were on sale. I would only sorta love them, and then we ended up with a house full of junk (not like hoarders, don't get crazy!) when we tried to move from Hawai'i, which made moving, and downsizing much harder!

I felt cluttered, and like we had a bunch of things we didn't need.

So, I am choosing never to do that again!

And it already feels better! We do have a lot of home decor things, but to me, that doesn't say clutter. I like to have decorations, and making a home a home, if you know what I mean.

But having those cute chip clips because they were $2 off, may not be necessary ;)

I totally recommend decluttering! It feels so good!

3. Keep a regular cleaning day every week!

I have actually been doing this one ever since we moved into our new home and it's proving to work so well!

My cleaning day is Friday, just because my man is home from work Sat-Mon, so I like to have a clean house for him to come home to.

Let me tell you, ladies. It's understated how much more relaxed you feel if you come home to a clean house.

It's so worth the work!

(That's totally me when I clean, by the way ;)

Every week on Friday, I clean the floors (sweep, swiffer mop, vacuum), the surfaces (countertops, bathtub, TV screen), the toilets, clean the sheets, etc.

It honestly gives me piece of mind that we don't live in a dirty home!

But don't get me wrong. We've been there before. Working hard, and coming home exhausted and no time to clean.

But I feel that if I had an actual schedule of when to clean and what to clean, I would've stuck to it more often.

So even though this is already a must for me, I'm having it as a resolution to help myself stay on track with it!

I recommend turning on a mindless TV show while you do it or blasting some music throughout the house to keep you entertained!

(Pandora always wins!)

Do you ladies have any resolutions? Please share them with me! I so want to know!

Do you have any fun things that I don't know about you? Share them below!

Hope you guys have had a wonderful start to your new year!
