Show and Tell Tuesday: Favorite Vacations!

What a totally fun topic!

I love taking vacations.

Some of the best memories come from them!

So, let's get talkin'!

Show and Tell Tuesday: Favorite Vacations!

Disney World
Because, duh.

Happiest place on Earth!

I l-o-v-e Disney World, but I took this vacay when I was younger.

So, I can't wait to go back and experience it with my man!

This is actually at Universal Studios, because we went to both Universal and WDW. But it was all in the same trip. We had a blast!

And yes. I was in a boot the entire trip. Painful, but worth it!!

My tip to myself for future trips to Disney World is to spend at least 6-7 days at the parks, and only do 1 park a day. Pack snacks, and don't be afraid to take a break during the day and then come back. Also, plan to do Universal Studios while you're there, and plan your trip during the non busy times!

Cruise
Because, also duh.

We went on a cruise to Turks and Caicos, Aruba, Curacao, and the Dominican Republic.

HOW FUN?!!

So much fun :)

Turks and Caicos was my least favorite stop, but it was also super cloudy and a bit chilly that day, despite it being in June.

The Dominican was amazing! We took a speed boat out to a private island, and stopped by a starfish farm on the way back!

In Aruba, we explored the entire island in a huge jeep and had a great time!

In Curacao, we spent the day walking around the town. It was so hot and humid. And had I not been so motion sick, I think I would've had way more fun :)

I was young when I went on this cruise, so of course my man and I plan to do it again ourselves.

My only tip to myself for future cruises would be to plan excursions! On the stops that we didn't have anything planned, it wasn't fun at all!

Hawaii
Our move to Hawai'i was like a big year long vacation. And I loved it!

My man and I ventured out to Hawai'i and spent a year living on the island of O'ahu.

We made INCREDIBLE memories, and have even considered moving back, if it weren't so far from family.

My tip to myself for going back to Hawai'i is to find out the spots that the locals like. Those tend to be the least populated with tourists, and incredibly gorgeous. Spend time just enjoying the beach, and snorkeling. And if you're on the right island, there quite possibly is a waterfall to swim underneath ;)

So I hope you gathered some kind of cool ideas for your next adventures from my past ones!

If you have any questions, I'd love to answer them! To be honest, I know the most about Hawai'i and WDW. But, I love to help out. Let me know if you're headed on any of these vacays soon!

And if you are, enjoy!

What's Up Wednesday?!

Is anyone else having a hard time believing that February is almost over??? My goodness!

But I am so glad that my year has involved you guys. YES, YOU!!

I love this community. Y'all are just spectacular :)

Let's get started!

What's Up Wednesday?!

What We're Eating This Week

Well, we've been eating some new meals! I always get excited about trying new things :)

A classic that's been on our menu is my Homemade Spaghetti Sauce. If y'all know anything about me, it's my love for Jesus, my boys, and spaghetti. YUM.
I use spaghetti sauce for lots of things, and you will never go back to jarred stuff after making this!

We've also been eating Southwest Salad. So simple. So yummy.

And this mama loves her sweets! Any of y'all have a sweet tooth?? These cookies will be right up your alley. Super simple, and I always have the ingredients on hand.

They're soft, cake like, dreamy little bits of heaven #allthehearteyes

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and Chocolate Chip Cookies

What I'm Reminiscing About

Reminiscing about our sweet baby! We cannot believe how big he's gotten. It's crazy!

{then and now}

Also reminiscing about the warmer months. I cannot wait to have more things to do than just being stuck inside. Plus, we have some pretty underrated summers where we live is what I've heard! ;)

What I'm Loving

I am loving being a little travel agent! One of my favorite things is to plan for our upcoming vacations. Any one else do this?? I have a knack for finding the cheapest places to stay that will still amaze you! Think luxury at the lowest price evaaaaa!

So we've got a couple of vacays comin' up! Hooray for downtime and being able to spend it together :)

And yes, these are all real pictures. Not filtered. Beautiful!

What We've Been Up To

A passion project. Anyone else had one of these??

I've decided to follow a passion project. So I started my YouTube Channel!

If you haven't checked it out, please do so. It would mean the world to me!

Subscribe to not miss any videos, or look on my Makeup Mondays and I'll be linking my new videos for the week!

Dusty Rose Makeup Tutorial

These are my three latest videos. If you love makeup and hair and all that girly stuff, or just want to learn more about technique in an easy and fun way, then I promise you'll love them!

What I'm Dreading

Hmm, that is just something that I'm not going to apply to my life. I am not dreading anything. I am consciously making a decision to think positively and not let others garbage be thrown on me. Ever heard of that law? Let me explain.

Garbage Truck Law

What I'm Working On

Well, I'm working diligently on my new YouTube Channel

And on tons of new content for y'all on the blog! I can't wait for you to see everything that's coming!

Let me know if there's something specific you'd like to see!

It can be about anything. Grief, healing, new recipes, workouts, makeup, how to be 1st time dog parents,  how I'm successfully losing weight, anything!

Leave any suggestions down in the comments :)

What I'm Excited About

I'm excited for my new makeup to be arriving in the mail.

I'm excited to be going on a beach vacay! {Ooh Ooh!!!}

I'm excited to be losing weight {which is well on it's way from running and working out!}

What I'm Watching/Reading

Anyone else watching The Bachelor???

I'm not sure who I'm rooting for. I honestly don't feel like I can get a good read on Ben...

But I'll tell you what I do like... Pinterest Told Me To's Bachelor Recap. I literally laugh my booty off for days after reading her posts! You are missing out if you haven't checked them out!

What I'm Listening To

Hmmmm, let's get a little list going! I've been listening to a ton of upbeat music and loving it!

1. My House - Flo Rida
2. Drunk On Your Love - Brett Eldridge
3. On My Mind - Don Diablo
4. Cake By The Ocean - DNCE
5. Magic - Mystery Skulls
6. It All Started With A Beer - Frankie Ballard
7. Build Your Kingdom Here - Rend Collective

What I'm Wearing

I'm wearing my new jeans from Nordstroms. They are Vigoss, only about $35 and SO CUTE

Also, I really am trying to NOT wear my wedges yet... But I'm so wanting to! My Franco Sarto Wedges are my fave!

What I'm Doing This Weekend

Hmmm, not sure yet! Puppy play, puppy training, and running our miles for the week. I love these times!  With my boys :)

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month

Possibly moving?!! I say this every single time. And honestly, I think it's going to happen! We have just taken a few detours ;) But that's alright. I know God's preparing to put us where he wants us.

What Else Is New

I always find this question the hardest because I feel like I've answered so much above! But I do know that we have made some progress on our wedding planning. Which makes me ecstatic! But if y'all are getting married anytime soon, or know anyone who is, I'd love to pass on this advice.

It's easy in this day and age to get caught up in all the wedding planning. Make sure you are not planning a wedding, but preparing for a healthy, long lasting, loving marriage. Invest in your marriage. Not your wedding.

Bonus: Favorite Easter Tradition

Hmmm, favorite Easter tradition?? Well, I used to love Easter Egg Hunts and all that. But now that I'm older, and we don't quite have kiddos yet {except for Coley}, I am so excited to celebrate Jesus!

{my little sister and I and my lamby on her first Easter. She had a horrible fever in this pic. But don't worry. Mama nurse to the rescue}

This year, we'll be heading to church in the gorgeous Spring weather to say thank you for His sacrifice for us. And I think we'll be making him a cake. For, you know, celebration :)

I hope y'all have a wonderful week, month, and so on. I can't wait to see you back here tomorrow for some fun! I encourage you ladies to take some time for yourselves this week/month. Just at least one time! You are worth it!

Friday Favorites!

Seriously, y'all. These weeks keep going by faster and faster!

Can I tell you though, I had such a great week! I'm so looking forward to hearing about yours, too!

Let's get started :)

Friday Favorites

ONE

SoCal and I are like soul sistas. I seriously can't get enough of it. If we ever get the chance to move down there, WE'RE TAKIN' IT!

I was in Laguna Beach this weekend (so fun!) and I can't get enough of soakin' up that sunshine and walking on the beach.

That being said, because Laguna Beach is like a second home to me, I would rather our honeymoon not be there. Just because we'd love to go see a new place. SO, we are having a hard time narrowing our choices down.

Anyone have any SUGGESTIONS for this?? We are loving the idea of a Walt Disney World trip, a cruise, touring Australia, or maybe even Spain! But we are kinda lost in a sea of choices. Does anyone have any 2 cents to put into this? :)

TWO

Um, you guys. Have you been watching the new series, Jep and Jessica?  It's based on Jep and Jessica (duh) from Duck Dynasty and their whole adoption process with their new baby, Gus! I've watched the first couple of episodes so far, and it's only made me love them more!

Anyone else love the Duck Dynasty family?! They're just so real. Even though they have so much money and could have such a lavish lifestyle, they're so relatable! Love it!

THREE

Valentine's Day is comin' up, y'all! But you know what? I didn't decorate at all this year! Oops! It was actually because we moved from Hawai'i and got rid of literally every single decoration in our home.

And while shopping around this year, I found nothing that I LOVED or had to have. So, I'm not decorating this year...Wah!

But, that didn't stop me from baking! These little beauties are going to my man's work employees. They said they love my baking and to keep them comin'! I said, ALRIGHTY!

Therefore, we have these red velvet love brownies!

#love

FOUR

This week. I'm tellin' myself. It's happening! I can't put it off any longer! And I want it DONE!

I'll be making our own wreath for our front door! I'm hoping it won't turn out like a total wreck! Eek!

Here's my inspiration! Anyone else have some tips for this? Anything that did or did not work out for these??

Love how big the bow is and how they wrapped the burlap on this one!

Love the big letter. I'm thinkin' well be doing our last initial on it because I love that personal touch!

There's something so clean and inviting in this one. And I love the green!

Okay seriously! The Banner??? How sweet is that??

FIVE

Can I just say... we are so in love with our little boy! He is 13 weeks right now and about 15 pounds!

We still take him into every store with us and everyone all swoons over him! He's a total heart breaker!

His favorites right now are bones, his moose toy, jingle bells, and to sleep with his monkey.

He goes running about 4 times a day with mommy and daddy, and he follows us any and everywhere!
He can be a little stinker at times, but he knows to sit when you snap your finger, how to lay down, roll over, jump up, and shake your hand. He is also crate trained. HOORAY for that one :)

Well, I can't wait to see what y'all have been up to!

What's Up Wednesday!

The end of the first month! Oh my goodness! Already???

Check in to see what we've been up to :)

What's Up Wednesday

What We're Eating This Week

We have been all about trying new things! Here's what's on the menu!

Eggs on Cheesy Bread

What I'm Reminiscing About

How tiny our baby was! He was 3.8 pounds just 2 months ago! Now hes up to 12! Oh my goodness. The time flies. He's getting heavier and heavier!

Sweet Coley bear is all into barking (since he's found his voice), he loves ripping up his toy shoe, and cuddling with his stuffed monkey. And hooray! He's finally crate trained! Now on to the potty training ;) He's now 12 weeks and daddy and I are so excited to finally be able to take him on runs!

What I'm Loving

I am loving the new Morphe Palette that I ordered! In case y'all haven't heard of Morphe Brushes, it's a company that is movin' on up in the makeup world! They certainly are making a name for themselves because they are so cheap!!! But, it's great quality! I love my brushes and my eyeshadows from them. I have no complaints. Here's the one I recently got to add to my collection:

The Morphe 35 o Palette. How gorgeous?!! It's only $22! Use the code JACATTACK to get 10% off too :)

What We've Been Up To

Well, my oh my, we have been exploring! Among the several interviews that seem to take up our off time (my man is lookin' for a new job!), we just hit up Multnomah Falls. It's super breezy and cold up there right now, but I love how the water froze as it was falling down!

We're a mess! Can ya tell??

What I'm Dreading

Totally dreading this weather getting colder. We don't get much snow up here, but we do get rain! And it's freakin cold. Right now we take Cole on daily walks or runs, but I have the hardest time getting up and going when I know I'm going to freeze my buns off outside!

What I'm Working On

I am really working hard to stay motivated on my workout routine! I'm trying to make it enjoyable, because I don't really enjoy working out... I've been looking at becoming a Beachbody Coach possibly... but I'm having a super hard time taking the plunge. Does anyone know anything about this company??

I know it takes a lot of work to build your company up, but I definitely have that time right now. So, I'm just wondering if anyone thinks it's a scam? Anyone out there?

What I'm Excited About

I am so excited about us visiting Laguna Beach! If you didn't see my Friday Favorites last week, go check it out here!

I outline 3 of my favorite places to go in Laguna Beach. I'm even thinking of doing a whole post on it. Anyone interested? I think it would be so fun. Laguna is one of my most favorite places ever!

What I'm Watching/ Reading

The Bachelor

Vanderpump Rules

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Duck Dynasty

Keeping Up With The Kardashians

Chicago Fire

New Girl

What I'm Listening To

All sorts of stuff! But especially new country music. Like these!

1. Break Up In A Small Town by Sam Hunt
2. Drunk On Your Love by Brett Eldridge
3. It All Started With A Beer by Frankie Ballard

What I'm Wearing

Capris! Laguna is fairly warm. So I've been wearing yoga pants and my Miss Me Capris!

And I'll soon be wearing these babies, if my man let's me get them ;)

What I'm Doing This Weekend

I have a feeling that a lot of cuddle time is coming up this weekend! We've had a crazy month! So some down time will do us some good.

And maybe some trip planning? Like tying up loose ends for Hawaii and Disney World (and a cruise for next year)! Ahh! So exciting.

We love adventures!

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month

Well, my goodness. I'm not sure yet. But we love some good excitement around here. Also, Valentines! So hello! I have a pretty good gift idea for my man... so I'm hoping he loves it!

Anyone out there just do small little gifts for Valentines?

What Else Is New

Not much! I always think this question is silly :) I shared so much above, I'm not sure I have anything else, lol! I hope y'all have had such a wonderful week!

You're over the hump!

Happy Wednesday!
