My Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes!

Thanksgiving is around the corner ladies! And I just love the holiday season (especially Christmas), but I enjoy it all :) These are recipes my sweet mama used to make. She swears they were super easy, and I remember gobbling (get it?) them all up every year! Everyone loved my mama's cookin', and I'm certain you will too. Easy, and the fam loves it? WIN WIN, ladies!

Green Bean Casserole

Such a classic, and always so yummy!

Shopping List
1. 2 cans of green beans, drained
2. 1 can of cream of mushroom soup
3. 1/4 cup of milk
4. French's fried onions ( as much as your family likes)

Recipe
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mix together green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and milk in a bowl.
3. Once mixed, pour the green bean mixture into a glass baking dish.
4. Cook in the oven for 20- 25 minutes.
5. In the last 5 minutes, top your casserole with the fried onions and stick it back in the oven to crisp it all up a bit. You can also sprinkle on a little shredded cheese during this time if you'd like!
6. Enjoy!

Crispy, Cheesy Potato Casserole

Not sure if anyone else's mama made this, but mine did. And they were spectacular. Each and every time :)

Shopping List
1. 1 bag of frozen cubed potatoes. (Like hashbrowns, but cubed)
2. 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
3. 16 oz. of sour cream
4. 1 can of cream of mushroom soup
5. 1 onion, chopped
6. 1 cup of butter
7. 3 cups of slightly crushed cornflakes

Recipe
1. Heat oven to 425 degrees.
2. Grease a 9x13 glass baking dish with Pam cooking spray.
3. Combine cheese, sour cream, and soup in a bowl.
4. Pour the hashbrowns into the 9x13.
5. Saute the onions in half of the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
6. Add the onions into the soup mixture and stir. Pour this mixture over the potatoes in the 9x13.
7. Cover the dish with the cornflakes so that it covers the entire top of the mixture. Melt the other half of the butter and pour that over the cornflakes.
8. Bake for 1 hour.
9. Enjoy!!

Mama's Mashed Potatoes

My mama was the queen of just throwing together whatever she had in the fridge, and making amazing things out of it! So this is not a very measured recipe. Do whatever you feel with the amounts!

Shopping List
1. 4 Large white potatoes
2. Garlic salt, and pepper
3. Cream cheese
4. Sour cream
5. Milk
6. Parsley
7. Shredded cheese (parmesan or mozzarella or italian blend)

Recipe
1. Peel, cut and boil potatoes in water until they are soft enough to slice through easily with a knife. Just cut the potatoes into large cubes so they cook quicker.
2. Drain potatoes, and mash them in a bowl. You can either do this by hand with a fork, or a hand held mixer!
3. Start stirring in your other ingredients. I like to leave the salt and pepper until last in case the other ingredients give it enough flavor to leave it out.
4. I usually use a HEAPING spoonful of cream cheese, a smaller, but still overflowing spoonful of sour cream, a handful of shredded cheese, and I am careful to add in the milk as needed. Too much milk at once and you will ruin the potatoes. Just do dashes here and there. Like I said, this isnt measured :)
5. Garlic salt and pepper to taste. Again. Do this a little at a time and stir WELL every time you add some. Have a taste tester nearby to help if necessary ;)
6. I top it with a bit of parsley just for some color.
7. Enjoy!

I hope you mamas make these recipes with your babies! I made so many amazing memories making these dishes with my mama! I can't wait to make them with my hubby and my kiddos (someday). Please tell me how you liked them down below :)
