Friday Favorites! (And A Chili Recipe Too!)

Y'all, can you believe we are already through the first week of the year?!!

Oh my goodness...

That went so fast!

So, here we are... at another week!

Friday Favorites

ONE

My new planner!!!! Do you guys get super excited when you get a new planner too???

I've heard amazing things about the Erin Condren Life Planner, so I took the plunge!

(Obviously not my exact planner!)

I know a lot of people have a hard time committing to a planner all year... but here's what helps me stick to one.

Intentionally buying it.

Yep. Because when you go to Target and you're picking up groceries and another bottle of your foundation and you JUST HAPPEN to see the planner you love, you are not intentionally buying it.

You weren't there just to buy the planner. So, it can kinda fall by the wayside.

But, when you intentionally buy it, you're much more likely to stick with it! SO, if this girl that I described above is you, I encourage you to order it online, do some research, personalize the cover!

You're much more likely to not just forget about it 3 months into the year!

Want to know what organizational tool I can't live without? Check out the post here!

TWO

This chili I made this week is totally one of my FAVORITES!!!

Oh. My. Goodness.

Here's the recipe. SO FREAKIN' EASY.

Shopping List
1.  1 lb of meat (I used ground beef, but you can use ground turkey!)
2.  1/2 red onion, chopped
3.  2 1/2 cups of tomato sauce
4.  1 (8 oz.) jar of Pace Picante Salsa in Medium
5.  3/4 of a packet of chili powder
6.  1 can of light red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
7.  1 can of dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
8.  2 cloves of garlic, minced
9.  Sea salt and black pepper

Recipe
1. Brown your ground beef, and drain when cooked.
2. Add the onions and 2 cloves of garlic to the same pan and add the beef back in after draining. Cook together until the onions become softer.
3. In a large pot (or I used a crockpot because I didn't have one big enough) add in all of the other ingredients and your beef mixture and let it simmer for at least one hour!
4. Enjoy!

I mean, seriously. So easy.

This was so good! My man approves too :)

THREE

Having a clean slate! We cleaned up all of our Christmas decorations and I totally love having a clean home!

Now don't get me wrong. I love Christmas time and all of the decorating that comes with it. It's my favorite time of the year!

BUT... There is something to be said for the feeling you get when you clean up all of the decorations and can actually see without having twinkle lights on.

Do you know what I'm saying?!

Ah. I am totally loving the coziness of our home.

FOUR

THE SALES, LADIES. The sales.

Anyone else lookin' at these After Christmas Sales?

I know there's a ton of them online, and I have been loving it!

We don't have kids yet, so we choose to wait to buy a bunch of things after Christmas, and we save a TON of money!

My fave?

Kirklands!

What can I say? I love home decor! #AllTheHeartEyes

FIVE

Getting glam! What do I mean by that?

I love putting on makeup and I have been doing a lot of that during this season!

I always add falsies (see how to apply them here) and a super fun lippie color!

You cannot go wrong with a tiny bit of confidence added in either :)

If you're wondering how I get up and get goin' in the mornings, check out my Winter Morning Routine!  Maybe you'll find some ideas to switch up your mornings with!

EXTRA

I have an extra favorite for you guys. Do you need a super easy (yet still one of the yummiest foods I've ever made) recipe for dinner tonight???

Take a swing at my Teriyaki Stir Fry! It is so easy. I cannot say that enough!

And, it's a winner for everyone in my fam. So there's a good chance that all of your people will love it too!

  1. I have to laugh at all the planner posts because I totally get tempted by all the new ones that come out this time of year but I buy mine in June when the round of school ones come out so mine run June-June not January-January. I guess it's an old habit from being a teacher and thinking of my year in those terms. Hope you enjoy your new planner!

    1. I love that they're so inexpensive at Target compared to the other brands. That's for sure. But I just couldn't help but get a personalized one this year. It was just too cute! Absolutely I'll be stopping by! Have a great week!

  5. I am SO bad for buying a planner and using it for a few months and then completely forgetting about it. I bought a really pretty one I found at TJ Maxx one day and I really hope I can stick to it! Kirklands is one of my favorites! I may have to head over there on my lunch break :) Have a great weekend!
